CARITASIn partnership with Caritas, we are able to annually host a group of guests for a week, offering shelter and meals. This event requires a great deal of volunteers to help and donate needed supplies. We are honored to be able to serve the greater Richmond community in this way. You can learn more about Caritas here.

Worship at University Park

University_ParkOnce a month on Sunday afternoons, volunteers enjoy worship with residents of The Laurels at University Park, a nursing and rehabilitation facility. This unique opportunity enables some of our neighbors to participate in a Christian communal worship service, which they otherwise might not be able to do.

Career Prospectors

Career_ProspectorsCareer Prospectors is a very active networking group for workers in transition that meets weekly on Tuesdays at 7:30 am. We provide mentoring, training opportunities, refresher techniques for interviewing, resume writing, timely gathering of job information, and general support as you travel your path to a new career position. Career Prospector & Jam where you may join, provides event details. The Career Prospector LinkedIn group supports job seekers with contacts and job postings. For information, contact Charlie Wood at

Christmas Giving Trees

Each year during the Christmas season, we have several giving trees located around the church to collect donations to organizations like CARITAS, The Sophie House, and Angel tree gifts for local children.

Thanksgiving Baskets

thanksgiving_basketsWe are happy to have the opportunity to distribute Thanksgiving baskets each November to our food pantry guests who otherwise may not be able to celebrate Thanksgiving. Last year we gave baskets to over 50 families.

Brunch & Backpacks

backpacks-brunch-genericIn partnership with the YMCA’s Bright Beginnings program, each August we have a Brunch & Backpacks event, packing backpacks with school supplies to help kids in our community start the school year with the supplies they need.

Ridge-elementary-rev TCPC partners with Deep Run Baptist Church to provide 15 Ridge Elementary students at risk of weekend hunger with a bag of food that is child-friendly, nutritious, nonperishable and easy to eat. The bags of food are distributed every Friday so that children have meals for the weekend. Each bag provides enough food that a child can easily assemble into six healthy meals. This helps ensure that children will have food over the weekend and return to school on Monday ready to learn.

Financial Support

We are proud to be able to financially support several organizations in our community including HEARTH of Henrico, Capital Area Partnership Uplifting People (CapUp) and UKirk at VCU.
