Office Administrator

Three Chopt Presbyterian Church is seeking an Office Administrator. The Office Administrator serves as the office receptionist and is the face of the church responsible for greeting members, visitors and vendors. The Administrator provides administrative support for pastors, staff, and volunteers.


  1. Performs general office administrative duties such as –filing, copying and preparing documents, typing, entering data into church records systems, maintaining the church calendar & records, and managing office supplies and equipment. 
  2. Prepares weekly bulletins and inserts with content from pastors and staff.  
  3. Performs financial administrative duties including receiving, securing and recording cash or checks delivered to the church office and tracking receipts, helping volunteers and staff create and code vouchers, and matching vouchers to receipts.  
  4. Performs the Child Protection Coordinator responsibilities as defined in the Child Protection Policy.
  5. Prepares mail pieces for mailings (such as post cards and Stewardship materials).
  6. Provides administrative support for the Head of Staff such as scheduling appointments. 
  7. Coordinates weekly reservations for clients of the food pantry. 
  8. Coordinates with Building and Grounds committee members and vendors making service calls.  
  9. Participates in weekly on-site staff meetings.
  10. Performs other duties as assigned and proactively looks for opportunities to serve.

Required Skills/Experience

  1. Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with pastors, staff, members, guests, and vendors. 
  2. Maintain customer service orientation and a welcoming attitude.  
  3. Proficient with using office computer hardware, Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel), Google Cloud services, Dropbox, and software used for preparing bulletins.  
  4. Proficient with basic data entry and running queries/reports using church database systems. 
  5. Excellent attention to detail.  
  6. Work skills and habits to meet deadlines/schedules and to work independently.

Reporting Relationship – Reports to the Pastor / Head of Staff

Schedule: Four hours/day onsite Monday – Friday within the hours of 8:00 am – 2:00 pm (20 hours/week)

Salary: $20,000 annually

Director of Communications

Three Chopt Presbyterian Church is seeking a Director of Communications. The Director of Communications represents the unified voice of Three Chopt Presbyterian Church through mass communications and is responsible for TCPC’s virtual presence, manages internal and external communication and implements new processes and mediums in order to improve the functionality and effectiveness of the ways in which we communicate.


  1. Designs, edits, and publishes print and web-based media including bulletins, presentations, graphics, newsletters, brochures, flyers, signage and collateral pieces.
  2. Maintains the church social media presence and the content on the church website.
  3. Provides guidance and leadership in understanding and implementing communication technology updates and changes.
  4. Regularly solicits pastors, staff and volunteers to provide content that is relevant and timely.
  5. Engages with the TCPC community and beyond to the broader community.
  6. Creates and maintains communication components such as branded email addresses, aliases and groups, Google forms, staff email signatures. Catalogs photos throughout the year for use in marketing and video.
  7. Prepares and manages paid advertisements and job postings through multiple platforms and organizations.
  8. Participates in weekly staff meetings.
  9. Manages communication volunteers
  10. Performs other duties as assigned and proactively looks for opportunities to serve.

Required Skills/Experience

  1. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  2. Proficient in website content management and design.
  3. Proficient in using social media sites –Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. as well as social media scheduling applications.
  4. Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite software, Google Workspace, and Canva.
  5. Proficient in video capture and editing.
  6. Excellent attention to detail.
  7. Work skills and habits to prioritize and respond to project needs and to meet weekly/monthly schedules.
  8. Familiarity with email marketing software (i.e., Constant Contact).

Reports to Pastor – Head of Staff

Schedule: Part-time position, flexible, mostly remote; on-site for staff meetings and special occasions (25 hours/week)

Salary: $22,000 annually

Director, Music Ministries

You will serve as the TCPC’s staff person for collaborating with staff and volunteers in the planning,  organizing, and direction of Music Ministries at TCPC. We have a 9:00 A.M. contemporary worship service and an 11 A.M. traditional worship service.  You  choose and coordinate music for both worship services under the supervision of  the Pastor.  Included are the congregational hymns, choir anthems, worship band, communion songs, service music, and special music.

  Your responsibilities include coordinating with the pastor, and staff for audio visual preparations, and working with the office administrator, the communications director, to ensure worship preparation, such as screen  presentations, bulletins and communications are prepared on schedule. 

  You will direct the chancel choir and the worship band for their scheduled rehearsals, Sunday Worship, and other special worship services.

  You will facilitate music programs within the congregation (including children and youth) to help develop participation and musical talent.

  You will organize and rehearse the children’s choir and hand bell/chime choirs periodically. 

  You coordinate with the pastor and the AV Specialist and provides musicians, recorded music  and visual content for all worship services (weddings and  funerals/memorial services) as requested.

Other services of your position include organizing, planning, and providing special musical offerings and coordinating with other church choirs as  needed.   Supervising maintenance and use of the church’s musical instruments, choral/instrumental music library, robes and miscellaneous supplies and equipment.

Your position requires 30 hours per week.  Our salary range is $29,000 – $32,000 annually.  annual and sick leave is available.

Required/Preferred Skills/Experience 

1. Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a choral music director. 

2. Proficiency in Keyboard and/or Voice. 

3. Proficiency in Organ and/or Guitar is preferred. 

4. Committed Christian who understands the mission of the church. 

5. Ability to work independently, lead others, and be part of a team. 

6. Organizational skills to prioritize and to meet schedules, and to manage rehearsal schedules
