The adult forum class is a Bible study class that meets on Sunday mornings in the Upper Fellowship Hall at 10:10 am. They prescribe to various formats and topics relevant to your faith journey and worthy of discussion.

God has told you what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)

September 2019 — Pastor Charlie Summers will lead the Adult Forum Sunday School
Mercy, Justice and Fair Treatment
Scripture envisions a community where there is mercy, justice and fair treatment for people. Since all are children of God, all deserve to “live beneath the vine and fig tree, in peace and unafraid.”  We examine what Scripture views as a godly and a humane community. Then we will look at our community to see where there are gaps and where people are treated like neighbors.

September 15        Justice and the Old Testament
September 22        Justice and Jesus
September 29        Our Journey toward Justice

Beginning in October, the Adult Forum class will study Brian Stevenson’s book Just Mercy: A Story of Justice and Redemption.
From one of the most brilliant and influential lawyers of our time comes an unforgettable true story about the redeeming potential of mercy. Bryan Stevenson was a gifted young attorney when he founded the Equal Justice Initiative, a legal practice dedicated to defending the poor, the wrongly condemned, and those trapped in the furthest reaches of our criminal just system. The book “is as gripping as it is disturbing”, wrote Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Desmond Tutu, “as if America’s soul has been put on trial.”
Copies of Just Mercy will be available for $5 for you to read prior to the October Adult Forum book study.
